In some cases, a T4 docking station may communicate with a PC and not with an older PC (e. g. Windows XP SP1). Indeed, the LED located to the right of the RJ45 network socket on the docking station lights up and then goes out. And no communication between the PC and the docking station is possible.
In this case, the firmware update of the T4 docking station is necessary.
The procedure is as follows:
Once the software is installed;
- Disconnect the RJ45 network cable from the docking station
- Connect the DTC4216A card to the docking station instead of the hand tester (HHT)
- Connect the serial cable (9 pins) to the card and the PC serial port
- Switch on the PC, launch the bootload software
- If necessary, configure it, start the update.
Once the update is complete:
- disconnect the docking station electrically
- disconnect the DTC4216A card
- connect the network cable
- turn on the docking station
- perform a communication test between the PC and the docking station (ping control "ping -t 192.168.1.3").
Procedure to be completed. If you have any further information, please contact us.
